From Congo With Love is a photography exhibition on London's South Bank. I was in London last week and was lucky to have some spare minutes to walk to the National Theatre near Waterloo station to see the photos, and WOW! There are some fantastic pictures and, more so, fantastic and moving stories.
The photographer Rankin's exhibition - in conjunction with Oxfam - From Congo With Love shows and tells you what LOVE means to the people of Congo and the context within which their love exists.
My favourite section of the exhibition was a collage of photos taken by the locals. Rankin armed a great number of kids and adults alike with disposable cameras - and some basic photography skills - and let them run free to take pictures of what they loved. One child, Rangombo, loves football and had a poster of Arsenal FC on his wall, so he took a picture of that! Tell us, what is your favourite photo?
The exhibition is FREE and is situated OUTSIDE the National Theatre. It is open for another week, until Thursday 11th April, 2010.
